    Econic is currently looking for a Chemical Plant Operator for its Customer Demonstration Facility in Runcorn.

     

    Job Title:       Chemical Plant Operator
    Reporting To: Customer Demonstration Plant Manager
    Location:      The Heath, Runcorn
    Full Time:     Day shift only (40 hr/ week within 8am to 5:30pm window, Monday to Friday)
    Job Type:      Permanent
    Benefits Package: £24,000 – £26,000
    Start Date:     As soon as possible

    Job Description

    In order to support our Customer Demonstration Plant Manager, we are looking for an experienced Chemical Plant Operator to work within our dedicated plant team. The Chemical Plant Operator will work as part of a team to ensure the successful safe operation of Econic’s state of the art Customer Demonstration Facility, operating the Facility to showcase Econic’s novel catalyst technology. To thrive in this role, you will need to be hands-on and able to work independently, adaptable to ideas and change, resourceful and self-motivated.

     

    Qualifications

    • GCSE A-C Grades (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science subjects are essential;
    • A levels or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Maths highly desirable (dependent on relevant experience)
    • A qualification in Process Plant Operations would be desirable

     

    Skills & Experience

    • Proven track record of at least 5 years’ experience as an operator on a complex process plant is essential.
    • Direct experience of plant operating with hazardous chemicals essential.
    • DCS/Control room experience, and experience in manual and automated plant operations is essential.
    • Direct experience of plant operating with catalysts is desirable. Excellent numeracy and literacy, and computer literacy.
    • Proficiency in key MS Office programs (Excel, word) is desirable. Ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills.
    • Adaptability by switching from an operational mentality (focusing on optimisation of process parameters) to a developmental mentality (helping to develop new protocols).
    • Previous experience of working on a Top Tier COMAH site is desirable
    • Current drivers’ license
    • Please note that the job entails manual handling

     

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Maintain an excellent safety culture by timely reporting of all safety incidents and learning events.
    • Assisting to ensure procedures are developed and kept up to date. Assisting setting up, and finalising of polymer reaction batches.
    • Operating the automated DCS reactor system.
    • Operating process vessels, pumps and other process plant equipment. Contribution to the planning and executing of maintenance plan.
    • Build strong, positive working relationships with team members.
    • Actively contribute to continuous improvement by developing ideas to improve personnel safety, environmental aspects and production efficiency.
    • Documentation and reporting of developmental and experimental batches Taking process samples.
    • Ordering raw materials and reagents in line with facilities demand planning Coordinating product shipments.
    • General facility housekeeping duties.
