Econic has been shortlisted for the 2015 Shell Springboard awards with a project proposal that will enable us to accelerate evaluation and adoption of our catalyst technology in production of CO2-based thermoplastics. We will present our proposal at a regional event in Edinburgh, in February, from where we hope to earn a place in the UK National Final in London in March.
Shell Springboard provides funding to UK entrepreneurs at the cutting-edge of the low-carbon economy and Econic’s project will be judged against their criteria of the reduction of carbon emissions, commercial viability and innovation.
Econic CEO, Rowena Sellens says:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists for this years Shell Springboard award. It gives us a great opportunity to highlight the environmental benefits of our breakthrough catalyst technology, which uses waste CO2 as a building block for polymers. If we are successful the award would help us accelerate the realisation of those benefits.”
